South Wedge Planning Committee (SWPC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening one of Rochester’s most vibrant and diverse neighborhoods. From housing and preservation to festivals, block clubs, and small business partnerships, SWPC brings people together to make the South Wedge a welcoming, connected place to live.
We’re looking for a highly organized, people-oriented Executive Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced, community-driven environment and wants to play a key role in neighborhood change.
Full-time, 40 hours per week
Core office hours: 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., with flexibility for meetings, events, and occasional evenings or weekends.

What You’ll Do
Executive & Office Support
Keep the Executive Director organized and on track by managing calendars, meetings, and follow-ups.
Prepare clear, professional correspondence, reports, and meeting materials.
Serve as a welcoming first point of contact for residents, partners, and visitors.
Manage phone calls, emails, files, and records with care and confidentiality.
Attend meetings, take notes, and help move ideas into action.
Community Engagement & Programs
Support block clubs and neighborhood-based initiatives.
Recruit, coordinate, and support volunteers for community projects and events.
Assist with program applications, tracking, and reporting.
Help identify new opportunities for growth, partnerships, and impact.
Events, Fundraising & Partnerships
Help plan and execute beloved neighborhood events like the Wedge Waddle, South Wedge Festival, and Sassy in the South Wedge, and membership drives.
Build relationships with local businesses and help secure donations and sponsorships.
Support fundraising efforts that keep SWPC’s work strong and sustainable.
Membership & Communications
Manage SWPC’s membership program and database.
Recruit new members and business partners for membership perks.
Keep SWPC’s website content up to date.
Manage social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Google Business, Pinterest).
Create engaging social media posts, email blasts, and assist with newsletters.
Who You Are
Highly organized, motivated, and able to juggle multiple priorities.
A strong communicator who enjoys working with people from all backgrounds.
Comfortable with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and social media tools.
Adaptable, self-directed, and eager to learn.
Experience in nonprofits, community work, administration, or events is a plus.
